ET             : How long have you lived in Ambon?
Mr. Adrian: I have lived here for 10 years 

ET              : What do you like most in teaching English?
Mr. Adrian: The thing that I like most in teaching English is when I see my students succeeded to overcome language barriers throughout their career and achieve greater things with magnificent English skills.

 ET             : What do you find as the most challenging thing in teaching English and how did you overcome it?
Mr. Adrian: The challenge for me is how to maintain my students’ focus and attention since our class usually start after their working hours. I overcame it with using brain gym or other exercise that will enhance their focus and attention.

ET              : As we know, speaking is the biggest issue for most of English learners in Indonesia. As an English teacher, what are practical measures that you apply to your class in order to boost your students’ speaking skill?
Mr. Adrian: I have a rule in my class “no native language during the lesson, the moment they enter the class, they have to speak in English” and I often have a speaking session in which we talk about interesting subjects such as culture, sports and how to improve their speaking skills.

ET              : Is there any activity that you give to your students to sharpen their critical thinking skills?
Mr. Adrian: Yes, I usually provide my students with wordplay, a game where they need to memorize some key vocabularies in our meeting and have them to construct sentences with those words and read those sentences aloud to the class.
